The Pittsburg Police Department is dedicated to keeping our community safe and welcoming for both residents and visitors. Our team is made up of one part-time Chief and one full-time Captain. While we don’t provide around-the-clock on-site coverage, we work hard to have an officer on duty at least eight hours a day, seven days a week.
Our dispatch services are handled 24/7 by Northern Border’s Dispatch based out of Colebrook. If a Pittsburg officer isn’t available, the New Hampshire State Police respond to emergencies. We also work closely with New Hampshire Fish & Game and the U.S. Border Patrol when additional support is needed.
In addition to serving Pittsburg, we also provide police coverage for the Town of Clarksville through a mutual agreement. This means our officers are responsible for covering a wide area (approx. 353 square miles) , and we take pride in doing so effectively.
We regularly use grant funding to enhance our operations and provide extra patrols. These programs include ATV patrols, Northern Borders Alliance and Operation Stonegarden patrols, all of which are funded entirely by the State of New Hampshire and the Federal Government.
For a department our size, we are very well equipped. Our fleet includes a mobile command post trailer, a Kawasaki KRL650 Adventure bike, a Can-Am Outlander XT, a Chevrolet Tahoe cruiser, a Chevrolet pickup truck, two snowmobiles, and enclosed trailers for transporting ATVs and snowmobiles. Officers carry .9mm caliber semi-automatic pistols, and our patrol vehicles are equipped with both rifles and a shotgun.
Our mission is simple: to make Pittsburg a safe place to live, work, and visit.
